The European Centre for Advanced Studies (ECAS) was founded in 2019 by the University of
Glasgow (Scotland, United Kingdom) and the Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Lower Saxony,
Germany). ECAS is a joint undertaking of both universities and established as an independent
research institution with its registered seat in Lüneburg. ECAS’ aim is to foster the academic
relationship between both institutions by providing researchers with a platform to develop joint
research as well as study programmes.

We are looking for a

Student or Graduate Assistant (20 – 30 hours/month)

who will support our team at the earliest convenience until 31 August 2024 in the organisation of
the fifth jubilee edition of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Joint Forum, taking place at Leuphana
University Lüneburg. The Joint Forum is an annual networking event intended to enhance the
cooperation and academic exchange between researchers, students and staff from Lower
Saxonian and Scottish high education institutions.

Skills/Qualifications
− Registered student of Leuphana University of Lüneburg or the University of Glasgow
− Very good command of written and spoken German and English
− Ability to work flexibly, independently as well as part of a team
− Showing personal initiative to get projects going
− Strong organizational, social and intercultural skills
− Efficiency and accuracy
− Good Microsoft Office skills
− Technical affinity for new programmes and tools
− Experience in the organisation of events is a bonus

Tasks
− Support of the Academic Directors, the Academic Coordinators and the Management in
the planning, organisation, and realisation of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Joint Forum
− Assistance in the management and organisation of the event
− Preparation of marketing material of all sorts
− Participant management
− Any other tasks relating to the organisation of the Joint Forum
