Study Programmes
At ECAS, we see the differences in education between regions as a unique opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of a given subject and, ultimately, of the world. For this reason, ECAS is committed to strengthening educational links between its partners at all levels of study, from undergraduate to doctoral.
Several stakeholders of both universities are working together with ECAS to deepen the ties between the two institutions. One result of this is the joint programmes between the University of Glasgow and Leuphana University of Lüneburg. They are not administered by ECAS directly, but are an important pillar of the cooperation between the two partners. Additionally, ECAS also aims to provide information about other joint study programmes run by Lower Saxonian and Scottish higher education institutions.
“[T]he structure and organisation of education across Europe is, in many respects, profoundly local, reflecting, as it does, the particular history and evolution of the social, cultural and political concerns that give rise to particular grounded practices.” (James Conroy, p.389)
