We are pleased to announce that – despite the great difficulties associated with travelling in times of pandemic – the first two fellows of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme have already met to work together on their project in Oldenburg.

Catherine Weetman (University of Strathclyde) and Lena Albers (Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg) are conducting joint research on the topic: “Synthesis of new heteroalkenes containing Group 14 and Group 2 elements and their application as catalysts”.
To find out more about this particular project, please visit:

The Tandem Fellowship Programme promotes internationalisation and competence building for early career researchers, leads to cross-border European cooperation and strengthens both regions – Lower Saxony and Scotland – as producers of excellent research in the European environment. The next tandems will meet in Osnabrück and Glasgow as soon as March 2022.
To find out more about the awarded tandems and their research, see: Lower Saxony – Scotland Projects.

The new open call for the selection of Fellows will be published shortly on the Tandem Fellowship website.
