We are pleased to announce that two more fellowship holders of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme have come together to work on their project – this time at the University of Glasgow. Dr Martin I. Antov (University of Osnabrück) and Dr Danying Wang (University of Glasgow) are conducting joint research on the rhythmic brain activity across different memory systems.

ECAS is pleased to announce that the Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme is entering the next round of the Open Call. The proven concept remains in place: Early career researchers, who have completed their PhD within the last 10 years and have an employment contract with a Scottish or Lower Saxonian higher education institution are invited to apply for the programme, which is an excellent opportunity to conduct research in a cross-national exchange at the most recognised higher education institutions in Lower Saxony and Scotland.
We are pleased to announce that – despite the great difficulties associated with travelling in times of pandemic – the first two fellows of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme will soon be meeting to work together on their project in Oldenburg.
The European Union has launched an EU citizen’s initiative: the Conference on the Future of Europe. Until Spring 2022, interested EU citizens are invited to utter their views on EU policies and actively contribute to the further development of the EU. The Ministry of Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development in Lower Saxony is funding a workshop for students from Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Leuphana) as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
The second edition of the Lower Saxony - Scotland Joint Forum, organised by the European Centre for Advanced Studies (ECAS), took place on November 22 + 23 2021 in a virtual space. With over 300 participants, we can proudly announce that the conference was a great success!
As announced last week, ECAS applied for the DFG Community Prize. Starting today, you can vote for us until 26 November 2021. You have a total of 6 votes, of which you can give up to 3 votes to one project. If you vote for us, you help to build bridges between Lower Saxony and Scotland! Last week, the selected tandems of our Lower Saxony - Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme came together for the first time to present their research projects. The conference took place in a hybrid format: The fellows from Lower Saxony met at Leuphana University Lüneburg while their tandem partners from Scotland joined via Zoom.
