At the end of March 2022, the Lower Saxonian Prime Minister, Stephan Weil, accompanied by a political delegation as well as members of the ECAS team, was scheduled to visit the University of Glasgow.
The aim of the meeting was to reflect on the history of successful and diverse collaboration between Lower Saxony and Scotland thus far, and subsequently to look ahead to what continues to be a promising bilateral academic and political future. Scenarios for various forms of forthcoming cooperation including even more joint study programmes and research groups, as well as the strengthening of existing and the development of new significant projects between the two regions.
Although the Prime Minister did not arrive in Glasgow due to travel disruptions, the visit was nevertheless a successful event, as the excellent cooperation prospects and important academic objectives of both Lower Saxony and Scotland continue to be enhanced by the European Centre for Advanced Studies.
