The European Centre for Advanced Studies (ECAS) is pleased to announce that the new application period for the LOWER SAXONY – SCOTLAND TANDEM FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME is now open!

The programme is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and organised by ECAS, which is a direct joint undertaking of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and the University of Glasgow. Since 2021, we offer this excellent opportunity and a proven framework to conduct research across the North Sea and present your project to an interdisciplinary audience from international academia and industry.

Proposals are invited from early career researchers, postdoctoral researchers or persons holding a postdoctoral position who have completed their PhD within the last ten years and have an employment contract (which extends for the length of the fellowship) with a Lower Saxonian or Scottish university, university of applied science or recognized higher education institution.

The concept foresees that two researchers from both regions form a tandem working on a joint project. Short-term stays (from at least one up to five months per fellow) in the partner region are funded with 1,400 EUR per person per month.

Applications can be submitted starting now until: 31 January 2023

Fellowships will be awarded for a period of up to ten months: 1 March 2023 – 31 December 2023.
