Academic Position: William Nibbs is a PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where he researches the sector-coupling of aquifer thermal energy storage. In his research, he focuses on co-simulation of surface energy systems and coupled subsurface thermo-hydraulic models. His main interest is in exploring the trade-offs and synergies of thermal energy storage in the transition to an electrified heating and cooling sector. He is currently a member of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Groundwater Resources Working Group.
