Marcia Vera Espinoza

Marcia Vera Espinoza is Professor of Migration and Refugee Studies and Deputy Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development at Queen Margaret University. Her research focuses on migration and displacement governance, and how shapes pathways of inclusion, as well as how integration is produced, negotiated and resisted across settings, including Scotland and Latin America. She is a founding member of the research group Comparative Analysis in International Migration and Displacement in the Americas (CAMINAR). Marcia serves on the International Advisory Board of Forced Migration Review and on the editorial boards of Migration Studies and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS). In 2024, she was appointed to the Young Academy of Scotland of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
