James McCallum

Professor James McCallum, based in Dubai , has almost 40 years of Upstream Energy experience in operating and supplying solutions to the industry’s most demanding of technical resource challenges. He is a serial creator of companies that have changed the way the energy industry and clients can access talent and deliver the most demanding of projects. In 1988, James was a founder of Keltec, an industry-leading supplier of Drilling specialists. Global Marine Integrated Services was next in 1992 taking on the full project turnkey scope of the most demanding of drilling projects as well as participating in the industry’s first government energy think tank Pilot. On successfully exiting GMIS IN 2002, James spent three years advising the Scottish government on its Renewable Energy Strategy and Policy, which remains to this day and was followed in 2005 by James co-founding the globally recognised upstream technical management consultancy Senergy Group which was successfully sold to Lloyds Register Group in 2013. In 2018 James co-founded Xergy to build an industry leading work automation software platform aimed at assisting the Energy sector with its digital transformation and to help accelerate an efficient , effective Energy Transition.
