Prof. Dr. Claudia Kemfert has headed the Energy, Transport and Environment Department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) since 2004 and is Professor of Energy Economics and Energy Policy at Leuphana University. She is co-chair of the German Advisory Council on the Environment at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, as well as on the Executive Committee of the German Society of the Club of Rome; Kemfert is one of the most renowned experts in her field. She is the author of over 400 publications, including several books. Most recently, her new book “Shockwaves” was published in spring 2023.
