Catherine Jones

Dr Catherine Jones is a Lecturer in the Insitute for Energy and Environment, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to holding this role, she was a Research Fellow in the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Electrical Power Systems at the University of Strathclyde. Her research interests focus on failure mechanisms and modes of electrical power systems, and subsequent implications for approaches to fault management and resilient electrical power system design. Her research directly links to the application of electrification of aircraft power and propulsion. She has particular research interest on inter-system failure modes, and implications for resilient integrated, electrical power systems design. This includes interactions between gas turbines and electrical power systems, and approaches to lightweighting where carbon fibre composite structures electrically couple to the electrical power system.
