Dr André Vieira is a Research Facilitator at the University of Edinburgh, working within the
IT Infrastructure group. His responsibilities include providing consultancy to researchers in
the College of Science & Engineering to develop and implement research data strategies
powered by the University’s digital resources. With over 15 years of experience across
academia and industry, Dr Vieira combined machine learning components with advanced
engineering techniques in structural analysis of buildings and bridges. He currently leads a
collaborative programme between researchers and PGRs, constantly exploring the usage
of AI systems in education. His vision is to integrate AI with academia to enhance research
outreach and foster collaboration among researchers.
