As Think-Tank-Manager at the Energy Research Centre of Lower Saxony (efzn), Alexandra Berndt is
responsible for the science-policy interface between energy research in Lower Saxony and (state)
politics. She drives the research centre’s development process towards transdisciplinary cooperation
by integrating multiple stakeholders from industry, politics and civil society into the research process.
Moreover, she is part of the efzn-research service, a platform for Lower Saxonian researchers to
develop and implement innovative energy research projects on a regional, national and international
scale. Alexandra has an international and interdisciplinary background in International Relations and
Organisations (B.Sc. at Leiden University, the Netherlands) and Sustainable Development (M.Sc. at
KU Leuven, Belgium) with stays in France, Vietnam and the Philippines.
