Adam Turner leads strategic funding and international collaboration activities at The Data Lab, supporting organisations to build partnerships and secure investment for data, AI and innovation projects. Since establishing The Data Lab’s External Funding Service in 2020, Adam has overseen more than 150 consortium-led funding applications, contributing to over £160 million secured for Scottish, UK and European collaborations. He has also played a leading role in the £54 million Smart Manufacturing Data Hub, a UK-wide partnership helping manufacturing SMEs use data and digital technologies to improve productivity and sustainability. With previous experience in business development at The Data Lab and IBM Watson Consultancy Services, Adam has spent the past decade bringing together academia, industry and public-sector partners to develop collaborative innovation programmes and turn emerging technologies into practical economic and societal opportunities.
