Professor Hiltraud Casper-Hehne is Vice President for International Affairs of the University of Göttingen as well as Professor in the Department of Intercultural German Studies. She currently serves as member of the Board of Directors of the European University ENLIGHT (Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Uppsala, Tartu, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Galway), as a member of the Board of the German Academic Exchange Service, as member of the “Language Advisory Board” of the Goethe Institute and as chair of the Advisory Board of the Academic Confucius Institute Göttingen.
She held a variety of positions focusing on international higher education cooperation in research and teaching as well as strategy development: Member of the Ad-hoc Expert Group “European Universities” of the EU-Commission, member of the HERA-Board (Humanities in the European Research Area), member of the Executive Board of the European University Network COIMBRA, chair of the Association of German as a Foreign Language and chair of the Advisory Board of the German Ministry of Science and Education on developing a China-Strategy.
