Saumya Raval

Saumya Raval is a doctoral candidate in Law and Transformation at the Joachim Herz Doctoral School of Law, Leuphana University Lüneburg. His research focuses on corporate accountabil- ity, human rights, and sustainability in Global Value Chains (GVCs). In particular, he analyses the impact of mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (mHREDD) laws on informal economies in the Global South from a decolonial perspective. His work contributes to global debates on governance and sustainability, advocating for inclusive regulatory frame- works that centre the voices of rightsholders in the Global South. He also teaches the course “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Law, Business, Policy, and Human Rights” at Leuphana. Saumya holds an LL.M. in Human Rights from Central European University, Vienna, and a B.S.W. LL.B. (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University, India.
